Student Bursaries for 2020 Conference
The Canadian Society for Addiction Medicine (CSAM) is offering twelve bursaries to students and trainees interested in the field of addictions medicine to attend ISAM-CSAM 2020. Bursary awards will help fund transportation and accommodation costs, and conference and Fundamentals Course fees will be waived for successful applicants. Students who are interested should carefully review the bursary qualification information on CSAM’s website.
Inaugural CSAM-SMCA Karen Mellor Bursary
Karen Marie Mellor was the former CSAM-SMCA’s National Executive Assistant. Ms. Mellor was instrumental in CSAM-SMCA’s growth. She facilitated a number of key changes that allowed our organization to thrive. In October 2019, at the age of 56, Karen passed away having struggled with an illness related to smoking. In her memory, the CSAM-SMCA Board of Directors has established the Karen Mellor Bursary. This bursary will enable the recipient to attend and contribute to the ISAM – CSAM 2020 Scientific Conference by presenting content on the topic of nicotine: a poster, workshop, research paper, medical writing, creating work or other submission. The Bursary is intended to address smoking cessation.
