Dr. Lamba completed his medical school at the University of Ottawa in 2006, his Psychiatry residency at the University of Toronto in 2011, and an addiction fellowship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in 2012.
He is currently the education lead for the addiction program at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto where over 50 residents rotate through their service per year. This service involves a multidisciplinary inpatient consultation team including internal medicine, family medicine, emergency medicine, and psychiatry. It also includes a nurse practitioner, peer support and a case manager. They also offer transitional follow-up and psychosocial groups based on motivational interviewing and the community reinforcement approach.
Dr. Lamba’s academic focus is in capacity building in the generalist. He is a member of the education committee at CSAM since 2016, and with Dr. Yelena Chorny led the first buprenorphine course at the CSAM conference in 2017 that was data-sponsored by the American Academy of Addiction Medicine.
Dr. Lamba has been a CSAM Board Representative for Ontario from 2017 to present.
