Dr. Martin Potter is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the Université de Montréal. After completing his Family Medicine residency in 2002, he worked in Addiction Medicine, Mental Health and with vulnerable urban populations. He proceeded to obtain a M.Sc. in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from McGill University in 2012 doing research into access to health care in HIV-HCV co-infected individuals. Since 2013, he has established himself in academia, and is currently the assistant program director for the Family Medicine program at Université de Montréal, and does clinical work in a family medicine teaching unit in a rural setting. He established the first opioid substitution treatment clinic in the Gaspé Peninsula, and in his mandate at the university, led the creation of the Family Medicine addiction medicine curriculum.
