Dr. Lamont previously completed an MSc. Med. in Neuroscience and a PhD in Pharmacology at Memorial University in St. John’s, NL. During his PhD program he was awarded a prestigious NSERC Alexander Graham Bell scholarship to study the long-term neurobiological impact of adolescent binge drinking. He is currently in the final year of his Family Medicine residency program based out of Saint John, NB and due to be complete in 2026 with plans to include addiction medicine in his practice. His current research interests center around the use of psychedelics and related compounds, their effects on neuroplasticity, and applications for treating substance use disorders.
