Kate Colizza

Dr. Kate Colizza specializes in General Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. Originally from Winnipeg, she completed her General Internal Medicine fellowship at the University of Calgary and went on to pursue her Addiction Medicine fellowship through the BC Centre on Substance Use. She also completed the Addiction Medicine Research Fellowship in Vancouver and participated in the Research in Addiction Medicine Scholars (RAMS) Program with Boston
University.

Dr. Colizza’s clinical work is based in acute care settings in Calgary, where she provides care to patients with complex medical and substance use needs. She previously served as the Medical Director of the Addiction Recovery and Community Health (ARCH) program in Calgary, helping to expand access to hospital-based addiction medicine services. Her academic and research interests focus on improving care delivery for patients with substance use disorders, bridging acute care with community supports, and advancing evidence-informed models of hospital-based addiction medicine.
